The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a core federal food assistance program that supports the nutritional needs of young children and their families in early education and care settings. Through participating in the program, family and center-based child care providers and emergency shelters can get reimbursed to help cover the costs of providing nutritious foods to children in their care. Each year, CACFP helps provide 4.7 million children with the healthy meals and snacks they need for healthy growth and development.
