Massachusetts Budget Briefing: Expanding Access to Refundable Tax Credits

This March, the Healthy Families Tax Credits Coalition hosted a virtual budget briefing on two opportunities to expand access to refundable tax credits in FY2027:

1.  Restore $1.5 million in earmark funding for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) in line item 1201-0100.
2. Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit to immigrant workers who file taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
