In an article by Greg Kaufmann,  Dr. Deborah Frank, Children’s HealthWatch Founder and Principal Investigator, was quoted as saying “Parents with children with special health care needs are less able to work many hours and have higher out of pocket health care related expenses. That means they are at particularly high risk of food, energy, and housing insecurity so that there is a reciprocal relationship between children’s poor health and poor nutrition.”
