Patrick Casey is the Former Principal Investigator, Emeritus for the Children’s HealthWatch Little Rock Data Collection Site. His research interests include obesity in children, children with special health care needs, and food security. He is the Medical Director of the Growth and Development Clinic, the KIDs First early intervention program, and the Co- Medical Director of the Medical Home Program for Special Needs Children of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Prior to joining Children’s HealthWatch, Dr. Casey served as the Medical Director for the James L. Dennis Developmental Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He was also the Principal Investigator for Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute, Lower Mississippi Delta Nutrition Intervention Research Initiative, the Arkansas site of the Infant Health and Development Program, and was the co-principal investigator for the Arkansas Center for Birth Defects Research and Prevention. Currently, he is the Harvey and Bernice Jones Professor of Developmental Pediatrics and the Vice-Chairman for Faculty Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Casey was also the Director of the Center for Applied Research and Evaluation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Dr. Casey received his BA from the University of Notre Dame in Pre-Medical Studies and his MD from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at EmoryUniversity and the University of Texas Medical Branch and was the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and fellow in General Academic Pediatrics at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
