Kate Scully, JD is the Director of Policy and Communications for Children’s HealthWatch. Prior to this role Kate served as the Chief External Affairs Officer at Philabundance, a Feeding America food bank serving Philadelphia and the surrounding region. In this role, Kate oversaw the Communications and Marketing, Events and Volunteers, and Policy and Advocacy work for Philabundance. Prior to her work with Philabundance, Kate was the Policy and Communications Director at Drexel University’s Center for Hunger-Free Communities. In this role, Kate worked to translate the Center’s research and practices into policy-relevant communications at the local, state, and national levels. In her time at the Center, Kate worked closely with all of the programs including Witnesses to Hunger, the EAT Café, Children’s HealthWatch, and the Building Wealth and Health Network. Before her work at the Center, Kate started her advocacy work as the Publications and Policy Analyst for PathWays PA. At PathWays, Kate worked to support efforts around paid sick days legislation in Philadelphia, reproductive health care options, and supporting programs that promote self-sufficiency.

Kate earned her JD from Widener University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
