This presentation by Dr. John Cook of Children’s HealthWatch will discuss household energy insecurity (HEI) in terms of how it is measured and in terms of its consequences for children and families, and our future prosperity. The presentation will communicate a straightforward, understandable way of quantifying HEI. Research evidence that indicates the impacts of HEI on child and family health will be summarized, and health impacts of HEI will be discussed in the context of what is needed to insure a prosperous future for us all.
