Children’s HealthWatch submits response to USDA’s proposed rule on school meals standard
On Monday, January 29th, 2018, Children’s HealthWatch submitted a comment in response to the USDA’s proposed rule, “Child Nutrition Programs: Flexibilities for Milk, Whole Grains, and Sodium Requirements” (7 CFR 210, 215, 220, 226). The proposed rule alters school meal standards so that they are inconsistent with the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and harms our nation’s school children and sets a harmful precedent of deviating from evidence-based policies that promote health.
